Maeve Cooney Wins ChE Staff Spotlight Award
Administrative assistant Maeve Cooney has been announced as a recipient of a ChE Staff Spotlight Award for her exceptional dedication to her position and the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering.
Maeve is recognized for outstanding management of the administrative responsibilities for Dr. Rochelle’s research group, which include, but are not limited to, editing research publications, coordinating their biannual industrial liaison programs, managing travel, and serving as the group’s HR contact. She also serves as an emergency responder for the department.
In addition to her job duties, Maeve also exemplifies core values of UT Austin in other activities, most notably in raising and training service dogs for the Canine Companions for Independence program. She is perhaps the most recognizable staff member in the department because she can always be seen with a service dog in training by her side. She is always kind enough to let students, staff, and faculty have “puppy time” with her dogs when a break is needed from work.
Maeve’s hard work and compassion makes her a highly valued member of the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering and extremely deserving of this award.
