“My key points for the Horns were the defense had to slow down The Ryan Show-Texas A&M players Ryan Swope and Ryan Tannehill- and we needed to get some turnovers,” said Poehl.  “I also said we needed either a defensive score or special teams score based on our offensive output the last couple of games.”

Poehl took part in the on-set point/counterpoint segment of the show where a fan from each team is interviewed about the day’s game.  He was pleased his analysis wasn’t far off the mark.   “My keys to the game were pretty dependable in the end, especially the touchdown by the defense,” Poehl said.

The Longhorn’s win ended a 118 year tradition, known as one of the best rivalries in college football, as the Aggies leave the Big 12 next season to play in the Southeastern Conference.

“It’s sad to see such a great rivalry end, but the final scoreboard showing the Longhorns on top will be a wonderful lasting memory.  It was a great experience to be there and witness such a hard fought game,” Poehl said.
