Michael Poehl Named 2017 Most Exemplary Faculty Member
Professor Michael Poehl was awarded the 2017 Most Exemplary Faculty Member Award for the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering by the Student Engineering Council. Poehl received the award at the Cockrell School of Engineering Distinguished Awards Banquet.
Engineering students nominated multiple professors from each Cockrell School department during this year’s E-Week in February. Poehl was then selected as the Texas ChE Most Exemplary Faculty Member after students voted on the nominees.
Poehl is an alumnus of Texas ChE (B.S. ’74) and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Houston and complete Stanford University’s Executive Training Program. Currently, he is the director of Process Industry Practices and teaches CHE 437K Process Design and Operations
The award ceremony took place in the Connally Banquet Hall in the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center on April 19.
