Emmalie Berkovsky Receives Rising Star Award

Emmalie Berkovsky wears a blue t-shirt and poses next to a polka dotted Women in Engineering Program poster boardEmmalie Berkovsky, a second-year undergraduate student, recently received a Rising Star Award from the Cockrell School’s Women in Engineering Program (WEP).

Rising Star Awards recognize outstanding first-and second-year engineering students for academic excellence, involvement in WEP initiatives, leadership, mentorship and volunteer experiences.

Emmalie conducts undergraduate research in assistant professor Lydia Contreras’ lab, and is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers student chapter and the Texas Wesley organization. She has served as a family orientation student leader and as a Camp Texas counselor. Emmalie also works in the WEP office.
