Happy 99th Birthday, Dr. McKetta!
Beloved professor emeritus, and namesake of the department, John J. McKetta Jr, turned 99 October 17, 2014. To mark the occasion, we invite alumni and friends to make a birthday gift in his honor to the Challenge for McKetta, along with sending a personal note that we will give him.
The Challenge for McKetta is a $25 million investment to support students, faculty, facilities and programmatic excellence for decades to come – the ultimate gift for Dr. McKetta who has dedicated his life to ChE students and our department.
To date, the challenge has raised $15 million, but we still have $10 million to go. Funds from this campaign will ensure the success and growth of the department as we continue to compete among other Top 10 programs.
The department is also gearing up to celebrate 100 years of chemical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin in 2015. We are planning a centennial celebration and our biggest wish is to commemorate this major milestone with the completion of the Challenge for McKetta. Give online or download a pledge form to fax in.
