James R. Fair Process Science and Technology Center

The Process Science and Technology Center (PSTC) is a collaborative effort between industry and the university which performs fundamental research of interest to chemical, biotechnological, petroleum refining, gas processing, pharmaceutical, and food companies.

The center is divided into three focus areas: Separations Technology Development; Process Optimization, Control, and Safety; and Energy and Environmental Research.

PTSC’s goal is to promote advances in process science and technology and workforce education by leveraging government and industrial resources in a highly collaborative program.  The university provides the framework for the program, the core of researchers, and a significant investment in equipment and facilities. Sponsoring companies pay fees that are used to purchase additional equipment, support researchers, and produce research documentation.
