Molecular Biophysics Program
The Molecular Biophysics Program (MBP) provides a unifying platform for students from a broad range of departments to perform research in the cross-disciplinary area of biophysics.
Emphasis is made on modeling and/or physically accurate measurements that are used to build or test complex models. Subjects of interest include the quantitative studies of structure, assembly, and function of biological macromolecules; transport of energy, ions, small and large molecules across membranes; signaling; and mechanics of cells.
The field brings together scientists from biology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry and biochemistry, mechanical engineering, pharmacy, physics, mathematics, and computer science.
MBP awards certificates to students that demonstrate the broad educational and research perspectives that are required for a successful study in the biophysics field.
